This almost feels like the boxing version of Revenge of the Sith

I guess because it has the whole angle of the student/pupil (Tommy/Anakin) turning on his teacher/mentor (Rocky/Obi-Wan) and the teacher is ultimately forced to fight his pupil. George Washington Duke is pretty much the Palpatine in this.

Eh, interesting observation. I guess Mickey is kind of like Yoda

Creed in itself, feels like the Last Jedi of the Rocky franchise with Rocky as Luke Skywalker and Donnie as Rey. Both Rey and Donnie seek out an old, withdrawn, and long retired Luke/Rocky in hopes of training them. Naturally, Luke and Rocky are very reluctant to train them. I'm guessing that Tommy Gunn is to Rocky what Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) is to Luke. They don't want to teach the next generation because in no small part, how badly things turned out the previous time. And both Donnie and Rey have a mysterious parental background/origin story.

I have thought the same thing myself. George Lucas must be a fan!

Nonsense. There was no boxing matches in any Star Wars movies
