Rocky V almost feels like a remake of the second movie

*Both movies take place immediately after where their predecessors left off, following Rocky's last boxing match.

*There's doubt that Rocky can box anymore following him suffering a critical injury during said bouts (his eye during the first Apollo Creed bout and legitimate brain damage from the Ivan Drago fight).

*Rocky has to go get a normal, menial, nine-to-five job when it became certain that he wasn't going to be able to maintain the healthy income he received from boxing.

*Rocky for whatever the reasons, can't do endorsements in order to sustain his income. In the second one, it was because he literally couldn't read very well. In the fifth one, it was due to his past as a loan shark enforcer for Tony Gazzo.

*Father Carmine makes a return appearance.
