I think you'll like Over the edge (1979) starring Jonathon Kaplan and Matt Dillon. although this is set a decade before PUTV the storyline and themse are similar - bored repressed youth in a newly built mid-west town. The IMDB link is http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079688/ .

Over the Edge also boasts a great soundtrack, the first time I saw Pump up the Volume my initial comment was that it was like an Over the Edge for the 90s - both superb films, supported by a great cast and quality soundtrack.

I got Over the Edge on DVD too and it's was good.

The messed up part about that movie it's based on actual events but over the edge very good i remeber seeing it when i was like 3rd grade and then again when i was in high school

I'll look into that. I have the soundtrack for PUTV, it is quality.
