share*** SPOILER ***
At the end, kids across the country take up their own pirate radio shows.
If you want to know any more, watch the movie!
The ending is a hell of allot more exciting than that but I don't blame you for not giving it away but you shouldn't downplay it either. Let's just say that you really should see this movie even if you can't rent it by you. If you like movies like the Breakfast Club or Ferris Beuler where American youths realize that we're being gyped out of an education (by a stagnent buerocracy designed to just keep the teenagers in a pen of ignorance) so they rebel (sorry but I go off on a tangent sometimes), you'll like this movie. It's quite original and it's one of those movies that you have to see more than once to get all of the nuances. So it's okay that you can't rent it, because I'd say it's worth buying. Especially if you hate the FCC as much as I.

Why would you want to know the ending without seeing such an awsome movie first?
sharebecause the video store that I go to doesn't have it
shareYou can find it sometimes in the bargain bins of stores like Wal-Mart.
That's a shame too since this movie is great. It was the very first video I ever bought for myself, then also became the first DVD I bought when I started switching over.
What do you mean that it is a shame that it is in bargain bins. Great movie no doubt but can really complain now that you got ten extra bucks in your pocket that you would have spent on it at hastings.
share100% go's for me as well was my 1st dvd to buy
shareI bought this movie at walmart the other day for $7.88. It was a double feature with bed of roses. Rock!
shareUm, I think you need to visit another store...
shareDon't take this personally, AliasFan, but I *beep* hate when people put up posts asking to known things that happen in a film when they haven't even seen it. I see SO many of them. Not just on imdb, my friends will say, "I haven't seen (insert title) but want to/I have it in my netflix queue, but tell me what happens in it??" Why is it so much trouble to just watch it? Especially a movie like this, it's not Ben-Hur or Gone with the Wind. It's short and fun. Two hours of your life max. On that note, I'm not saying a word.

You can also google "movie spoilers" and you'll get a ton of websites that either explain the entire movie from beginning to end and some that just tell you the ending. One of my favorites is moviemuckers.com.
I'm a big movie geek. My biggest pet peeve is when someone who's watching the same movie you are keeps asking what's gonna happen next -- it's like fingernails on the blackboard in my brain. However, I'm also one of those people who prefers to know the ending before I see a film. This drives my friends crazy because they think I'm ruining it for myself. If it's a comedy, I like to go along for the ride, but if it's a suspense or horror movie, I have to know the ending.
"Ruining it" would be paying $10 to sit in the theater, $6 for snackies, not being able to eat the snackies because my stomach's eating itself due to nerves, my legs cramping up since I'm so terrorized that my muscles can't relax, my jaw aching because I'm gritting my teeth, and my head hurting like an S.o.B. when we get back to the car because the movie's made me so tense that I wasn't breathing propertly. I can't enjoy the performances, I can't enjoy holding my husband's hand, and it's going to take me all night to recover. BUT IF I KNOW THE ENDING, I can still allow myself to "get into" the movie without needing therapy.
Plus, there are some times when the ending just blows and I've saved 2 hours of my life from total time suckage.

Without trying to sound harsh, if thats what you go through everytime you see a film without knowing the ending, I think it might be time for a little bit of therapy !!
shareAfter the FCC is called in and Slater is very close to gettin arrested, he decides to stop his show.(for like 30 seconds, he turns it off and then back on in less than a minute) But after everyone believes in him and wants him to do the show, he goes back on. In the end he runs from the cops and FCC and broadcasts from his mom's jeep with his new girlfriend. He gets caught and reveals his identity to everyone. And he tells everyone to continue what he started and talk hard because everyone has a message and we should rebel, yadayadayada. Everybody cheers. Then we hear a bunch of different kids around the country starting pirate radio shows.
