Ironic, isn't it? Now that the youngest generations have the platform to say almost whatever they want to say, it's almost expected even demanded. But it's also available to everyone so they're doing it while their parents and relatives can watch them even closer than they could in the past.
Not to mention considering that Facebook and Myspace were set-up with the help of US government and inteligence agency funds in order to profile people and to get to the rebellion before it happens then I would say that we have in a way moved backwards with the advent of these 2 very damaging mediums.
I remember the Internet in the mid 90s where you could say *beep* You!" or just about anything and there wasn't any censorship. Nowadays this comment would be deleted and probably will, save for those who might get a glimpse of it for a second or 2. The Internet nowadays has mostly become sanitised and boring apart from the Dark net and a few dedicated servers committed to non censorship.
Nowadays you can let your feelings known, speak up, just remember that the government is listening and probably has your IP address and if you say anything which might be too politically incorrect, well that is just inadmissable, so remember guys, TALK HARD and don't give a damn.
With freedom of speech comes responsibility though. Too many people don't have responsibility, so of course if they say something intentionally damaging then it might get deleted... That's hardly a reason to break out the tinfoil hats and whine that 'the system' is setting out to oppress us.
This is where the magic happens... and by "magic", I mean nothing.
