Every scene w/o Christian Slater is horrible

Literally, not just horrible, but disgustingly so. The first few times I saw this I was a kid, maybe 12/13 years old. I remember liking it a lot, and I still do. But back in the day I guess I wasn't able to recognize horrible acting, let alone this horrible. There isn't one performance outside of Slater that I couldn't see any time at my local high school. The writing is great in this movie, but if they'd had a capable actor to perform any part other than the protagonist's this could have been an early 90s classic. It still holds a good bit of nostalgia for me, but it really is hard to watch as an adult.

Bumping this thread.

I can't believe the people on here who think this movie is great.

It has some of the worst acting I have ever seen. Slater was okay, but everyone else was a complete amateur.
This movie made me cringe so many times that I'm surprised I stuck with it to the end.

It isn't the worst movie I've ever seen, but it isn't far from it. 2/10

Come on now Samantha Mathis was o.k. in her feature film debut. Also I think Billy Morissette (the dude that played 'Maz', the bleach blond punk) was alright.

Another thing as well is that the other horrible supporting cast actually help to make Christian Slaters performance STAND OUT! So in a way their suck-age is in fact a good thing.

I only liked Slater's and Mathis' acting. Agreed, the scenes without Chris Slater are boring - the whole film is pretty boring, actually.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
