What happened to the school principal?
Did she get in trouble then for her own ruckus?

She was probably fired and brought up on charges. Murdock was probably fired as well since he participated as well.

Yes, I am sure she was fired and also brought up on charges. Perhaps she pleaded and did not so jail time, but she would never teach or work in an academic environment again.
shareShe was suspended and there would have been an investigation. She wasn't apparently embezzling the money for herself, she was using it to invest in school resources. I imagine a silent majority in that community probably approved. But she would have gone through an HR process and walked with a pay off. The school probably would have had to pay back the funding they'd secured illicitly started to go down hill.

I doubt she would have gotten a payoff though, back in the late 80s/early 90s was pre the days when CEOs and all other leaders got a huge severance for a crappy job and to go away. But she probably would be able to keep her pension.
You're right. She wasn't stealing money for herself but she was still committing fraud because she was obtaining government money by illicit means. Her school had a duty to educate all the eligible kids in the community and not to exclude them because they didn't meet her exacting standards. I was a top student at high school so perhaps I would have been spared by Principal Creswood's regime, but I also had an illness which my own school's principal didn't take too well to so I can sympathise with the pregnant girl and 'underperforming' kids who were kicked out despite exhibiting no behaviour that went against the school's disciplinary code.
