panther-BITES878, I totally agree with you. this movie had a great plot.... eventhough I watched it on tv for the first time last week.... I loved it... since I have neighbor problems I can so relate.... I'd give this movie a thumbs up.. even though it's 15 years old.. Michael Keaton plays a great "Villain"...

I feel it was good and made perfect sense its just how you look at it.

Michael Keaton’s character is basically n evil con artist who preys on unsuspecting landlords. He’s gotten away with it until his encounters with the present yuppie family and would have gotten away with it there had they not fought back against him and beat him at his own game. This movie was actually based on a true story. Only I believe the Part Keaton played was in reality an elderly woman running the same kind of scam. And her accomplice was her adult daughter.
