Carter would be classed as a sociopath, wouldn't he?
Wouldn't he?
Nothing is tragic; everything is unreal!

Of course, stealing from people and intentionally damaging their proporty for financial gain, pretty much doing whatever he wants without a care of consequences typical behavior of a sociopath, only difference is I don't think he was a killer until the end of the movie where he finally loses it.

I think he fit the sociopath label to a tee! Charming, highly intelligent, knows how to manipulate situations to suit his needs and desires. However a few things in the movie he does are exaggerated and nobody would get away with them!
shareA sociopath doesn't necessarily have to be a killer. Its just someone who basically has no regard for other people whatsoever and pretty much lives only to suit their own desires even if it means hurting others. They are basically parasites.
A serial killer is actually addicted to murder like some people are addicted to drugs. Danforth was not a serial killer, but was more or less like many greedy sociopaths. He had no particular addiction to murder, but was not above it when it either suited his purposes or he wanted revenge, which was the case at the end of the movie. It was only when someone gave Danforth a taste of his own medicine suddenly he got murderous and pissy.
Yes. The sad thing is, there are many of these types walking around and functioning in our daily lives. Google "10 signs of sociopath" for the things to look for.
