And I'm watching it right now and this is one of Stephen King's finest.. Surprised he didn't crap on this adaptation like the others?? 🤔 This movie along with SALEMS LOT(1979) and CUJO & CHRISTINE are some of the best Stephen King Adaptations
I love this movie! I only have it on DVD, though, not Blu Ray. Are there cool bonus features like interviews, deleted scenes, making ofs, commentaries, etc?
No and Yes.. No on the Deleted Scenes and Yes on a bunch of commentary from Rob Reiner along with featurette's on celebrity stalkers and advice for people who've been stalked.. It should also be of note, that while the movie "MISERY" was pretty close to the Novel, there were a couple of changes that would've made this movie "NC-17".. One scene is the scene where Annie hobbles Paul Sheldon with the sledgehammer, Except, in the Novel, she takes an axe and cuts off his foot, then uses a blow torch to cauterize it.. The next scene in the movie is when Paul Sheldon hits her in the head with that weight and falls down and hits her head on the typewriter and dying from it.. In the Novel, the scene is pretty much the same, except, Paul Sheldon calls the Police and waits outside for them and when the Police arrive, Annie is nowhere to be found.. Upon further search,, they find Annie out in the garage lying dead face down while holding a chainsaw meant for Paul..
Oh, yeah, I read the book, too, and I actually found Annie scarier in the book! Don't get me wrong, she was pretty scary in the movie, Kathy Bates did an excellent job, but I dunno, to me, she seemed meaner in the book.
