It could be about Paul as a comic book creator and internet fandom, lol. Or even better, some kind of SJW gone too far!

I meant, have Annie be a rabid fan who follows him on the internet/stalks him on social media, and then the real-life Paul falls into her lap in the events of the movie. It's a remake they actually could kind of pull off with an update, lol. Paul could be a comic book writer and Annie goes nuts over his newest comic because it doesn't have a good representation of females or something, lol.

No! Melissa McCarthy is too much of a nice and fun-loving gal. I don't know if she could pull off a role of Annie Wilkes.
