The dressing up "prank" the other girls pull on Megan...I don't get it.

When the girls all come to school sporting a different look, the movie seems to act like they're dressing in a way that mocks Megan. But the thing is they're dressed in a sort-of trashy hair-metal groupie style, which is not at all how Megan dresses. How is it a prank on Megan?

btw, they all look much better than they did before. So I really don't get it.

yeah that prank was stupid and childish. Dunno what they were really attempting to do by dressing up like that but it backfired on them i guess.

It was amusing in a mocking way. Given what we've seen kids do in movies like Carrie (that this one even has a character reference), it was pretty mild.
