One scene I never understood lol

This may sound dumb, but why does the camera zoom in on James and he makes that face when Lewis asks him where Carl keeps that gun of his? It always bugged me. Did he not want Lewis to have the gun?

reply

no he didn't because Louis was a mad man

reply

wasn't mad. just really focused.

A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

Because it suddenly dawned on him the potential dangerous situation he's in, a lunatic asks him where his gun was lol.

"Mr. Treehorn treats objects like women, man."

Aside from the fact that Lewis is the last person James probably wants to give any form of weapon to, I think it's just referencing James' on-going hatred of that pellet gun. He was against Carl using it the first time, blamed Carl and the gun for the whole situation, and now Lewis was asking for it. It was sort of a "Oh no not this again" mixed with "I don't want this guy to have a loaded anything".

"Got a cigarette Nels?"
