Keith David

Great actor!!!

He was wicked in this - I was in stiches when he didn't want to let the pizza boy eat, comparing him to a Vietcong!!!

Good film!

Heh heh heh heh. Yeah, man that line was friggin hilarious. Ever see Keith in They Live (1988)? He had the same lunatic demeanor in that one, too. Keith David is a gem. I've loved just about everything he does ever since I saw him in Carpenter's remake of the Thing where, as a rookie actor he gave a remarkable performance alongside a great cast, where he shined like a seasoned veteran. He aalso is one of the greatest narrators on the planet with a deep resonating voice that takes over. His narration of Ken Burns' Jazz series is nothing short of miraculous. I hope he lives forever.

This was before Tarantino, but his dialog and the way he delivered it in the police stand off scene makes me think of how Samuel L. Jackson says his lines in Tarantino movies.

Well he is the Vice President(playing as himself) in the video game Saint's Row IV.

There are several sacred things in this world that you don't ever mess with. One of them happens to be another man's fries.

He was AWESOME in this movie. Which given the material (I don't think this movie blows, but it's not Shakespeare), makes it all the more impressive. His monologue to the cops about thriving on misery in the jungle, his flashbacks, life lessons about french fries (maybe my most used movie line ever as people always try to jack my fries) are all awesome. He delivers all his lines with comedic perfection, all the while still making us believe he's a seriously disturbed Vietnam Vet. This is far from being my favorite movie Keith has been in (The Thing gets that) but it's my favorite role of his. Even though Sheen/Estevez were the stars, this movie would have been nothing without Keith.
