25th Anniversary

This movie opened in theaters on August 24, 1990, and last month had its 25th anniversary. I know I'm about a month late with this post, as I forgot it then, but I do remember when it came out back in 1990. I was 22 and living at home, and had just over a year earlier (May, 1989) dropped out of college. I had planned to go back in January, 1990 with a change of majors and get my degree, as I always thought I would, but then decided not to.

I did not see this movie in theaters when it first came out, though I was strongly into movies then, but I did rent it out in 1993 and saw it a few times on our VCR, and liked it pretty well. We then moved from our longtime house in January, 1997 and I spent most of the next 13 years homeless, until I got an apartment in September, 2010. During this time I obviously had no way to watch anything on home video and thus did not see this movie again, but after getting this apartment I got a TV and DVD player, and brought alot of movies on DVD to watch, though not this one. I then joined Netflix in March, 2013 and rented Men At Work out after that to watch it a few times. I still liked it alot, though it did not quite get on my favorite movies of all time list. But while I would still have gone to college and gotten a degree and professional job had I had the chance to do it over again, being a garbage man is the job I would most like to have had had I not gone to college and gotten a nonprofessional, non college career. And that is one of the reasons I like watching this movie, and do plan to rent it out from Netflix later this year and watch it again.
