Well, don't take this the wrong way...I know it means something different in other places, but where I'm from, it's an old derogatory term for someone of African descent.
I've heard it said as "Jim Crow" and John Crow as well. What colors are a crow's feathers? An example would be that when someone was pissed, he'd flap his "crow wings".
