The Drug Deal at the Beginning of Movie

I've always wondered about this. Hatcher and Chico go into a bar and into a back room to meet with drug dealers. They start talking business with a drug dealer sitting behind a desk. Then another drug dealer comes in the room with the man Hatcher and Chico stuffed in their trunk. This drug dealer then shoots the drug dealer behind the desk. Why did he shoot him? Was there a reason for it.

So he can take over the drug ring, I would imagine. I think he said something to that effect, but I haven't seen it for a couple years, so I could be getting it mixed up with something else.
But I would imagine that was the reason. More money in his pockets, and/or eliminate the competition.

Bumpety.

I think he said something to that effect,

He didn't, I just watched it.

But I would imagine that was the reason. More money in his pockets, and/or eliminate the competition.

Hardly seems the time or the place, though. Nor do we ever get to know their positions in the hierarchy. It was just such an unnecessary thing for the film to include.

I just love the beginning to this movie, because it's basically an ending to another movie, that wasn't filmed! That's how I percieved it.

I always wondered what the deal was with that guy getting shot. I always figured the shooter assumed he was working with the police or something. If he wanted to take control, he'd have shot the guy sitting down, the head honcho. The shooter just got the news that Hatcher and his buddy were undercover, because they'd found Danny Trejo, who sold them out.
