One of the bad guys just vanishes
During the car chase in Chicago there are 4 baddies in the BMW. The one with the silly red hat and the shotgun sitting in the back just vanishes. What's the deal?
Meh!

He was shot in the head by Seagal during the chase.

---THE WILD BUNCH (1969)---

It was.
But it was shown for split second, without grafic details and it's very easy to miss. Watch closely, it's in the beginning of the chase, while they run through the park.
Correct. Shotgun guy is hanging out the window, Seagal hangs his pistol out the window and drills the guy in the head. You briefly see a red mist, then the guy is able to get back in the car, and "ka-bar in the chest guy" picks up the shotty and starts firing out the back window.
The REAL question is: where the hell was Keith David for five minutes while Seagal was beating the other three up?
Negative. The red mist is just discharge from the blank shell in the shotgun. There is no wound on the guy either. The fact is...he just vanishes. His death was obviously cut from the final version of the film, as was clearly a lot of plot too.
Meh!
I've just watched the film on DVD, and the red mist IS blood from the guy getting shot in the head. If you look very carefully you can just about make out the spurt where the squib goes off on the top of his skull.
shareyup, red had got his head blown.

shareThe air makes the red mist disappear very quickly, but there is a squib inside the red hat. Here's a link:

You see blood more clearly on the top of his head just before he goes back inside the car.
Wow! It IS there. How about that?!?
