They never explained how Peck got her panties and she did later admit that they were hers. Did I miss something? Anyone know?

I think its entirely possible that they were not Kathleen's pants at all. Peck probably took some of his own wife's underwear, or from one of the other women he was screwing. The thing about Peck is that he is an expert at playing mind games. He can convince most people of anything.

Yes, and when Avila has that "a-ha" moment and leaves the hospital to race home I think that's when he figured out that Peck broke in and stole the panties.
