Who's the worst cop: Dennis Peck from Internal Affairs, or Alonzo from Training Day, and who had the better performance? Both were equally dispicable, but I think Dennis shaking hands with the exact same hand he fingering a man's wife with under the table while talking to him sends him slightly over the top.

Both great characters, but my favorite bad cop is Harvey Keitel in Bad Leiutenant.
shareThey all were good. You hated them but Alonzo & Dennis were so cool about it, Alonzo had no qualms about killing, same with Dennis, until he had to do it himself. Colin Sullivan from The Departed was probably the most despicable cop character I've seen in a movie. All of them were cruel and just villainous, but I think Gere & Denzel were equally chilling in their respective roles and gave equally great & memorable performances. Also, Keitel was awesome in Bad Lieutenant!

Alonzo was more of a violent lunatic who got into a pie that's too big for him. He felt the heath and that's why he probably behaved the way he did.
But Peck...he's one scary bastard.
