Difference in scene where Dennis feels up Mrs. Aroukas?

When I saw this movie years ago I seem to remember several cuts to under the table as Richard Gere's character run his hands between Mrs Aroukas' legs inder the table. I also seem to remember it showed him pretty graphically tearing off the panties and she reacting even though she was trying to control herself.

Now on the DVD they just show ONE cut...as his hand slides over her thighs.

Anyone else remember the longer, multiple cut version? This movie has lots of steamy scenes so why was this cut down for the DVD?

Anyone notice this and has heard any story that it had to be cleaned up for DVD? The continuity was lost when we saw Peck with Mrs. Aroukas later!

I remember a lot of the really dirty dialog (look on the quotes page here) missing from the videotape release (compared to the theater).

I never saw the more graphic version of this scene, but whether or not that was the original version, it doesn't matter too much because we have a glimpse of his hands between her legs, and it even gets more graphic when he has anal sex with her later on...

I do remember the same thing. I dont know why they always try to clean up a R rated movie when at the very end it will still be R rated.
