Always looked for, never found, 'till now -- a website!

I will have to agree with the more intelligent posts here ... I find this to be a very good movie, and will give it the highest rating I can.

But I -hafta- share this one with the other Hardware-heads out there ... and you know who you are!! A website. :o Now you don't have to wander through the glass flats/dune sea of the web wastelands ... Everything ..is ..under ... control ... at, well, http://www.everythingisundercontrol.com. Maybe. Check It.

'nuther item of interest! Richard Stanley will be in person, at the Espoo Ciné Film Festival (which will be covering several of his movies..) on Aug. 26-29 '04. Check http://www.walkingman.ht.st for the details on that and other goodies ... You film heads should appreciate ...

I totally agree. I just watched the film again and was about to write a big long message about why I think this film was inappropriately criticized and how there are so many interesting things going on, but Bruce David in the user comments section wrote a review that almost completely sums up everything I was going to say. I recommend that people read it. Man, especially considering its low budget, I was impressed at how much I was sucked into the film's dark future/ atmosphere. And the robot was very scary, not in the sense that it pops up around the corner and you jump (that kinda happens here and there) but in that its personality or character can have whatever you attribute to it plus the complete carnal need to kill (almost as if its an addiction for the robotic that it doesn't even understand itself just acts on, which kinda concides with its ability to inject a killer hallucigen into its victims). The Terminator is a classic, but the personality is Arnold, for most of the film Arnold's expressions represent the terminator (which is scary in its own right that underneath is an emotionless robot) but in Hardware, it's just bam! in your face killer machine, no reasoning with, nearly unstoppable. It has this insanity that no other killer robotic has had. Yeah, I think I'm pinpointing it now. Most other killer robots are cold, calculated, doing their job. This robot seems as if it had a mission once but for some reason has gone haywire and is in a frenzy, thirsting for violence and death regardless of what is going on. I dug it. Very creative way to rehash a used idea.
