Watched the Standard-Def DVD a couple of days ago. Visual quality was excellent, with no issues.

There are two things you should look into

1. Is the brightness or contrast wrongly set on your television?

2. Some dvd players have an adjustable contrast and brightness option in the player settings (cheap decks like cyberhome have this). No idea what machine you are using but give this a look.

99% of you people send me PM's with questions and never bother to check that I replied to them.

Are you in Europe? Do you need an adapter?

Thanks for the link. I bought one copy yesterday and put in my Sony DVD player and it kept freezing and skipping. I took it a back to the store and got a replacement copy and pretty much the same thing, but put it in a different player and it played better with a couple of minor freezes. The same on Disc 2.

This reminds me of the "Heathers" debacle from several years ago. It, too, would only play in some DVD players. My DVD of "Hardware" plays just fine in my Sony Upconvert DVD player. I hope Severin helps those of you with technical issues in a better fashion than that jerk Michael Felsher from Anchor Bay helped me.

(Let's just say it got really ugly...)

I just watched the film with Richard Stanley's commentary and I had no problems whatsoever with my copy. There were no pauses or freezes at any point in the film.

I finally got my hands on the dvd and yeah, it does freeze at minute 19, but that's about it.
