I love when Kinderman sees Dyer's body and his reaction. Very unnerving, and clever how Blatty didn't show us any detail.

Yes, that was an example of Blatty's restraint - not showing us Dyer's ruined corpse - ditto deleting shots of Fr. Kanavan in the confessional box holding his own severed head in his lap...
