was just about to post this.

Will there be a “Director’s Cut” of the film? The answer is yes—but with some caveats. We are working on putting together a version that will be close to Blatty’s original script using a mixture of various film and video tape sources that we have been provided with. This is still a work in progress and we will update you with more details at the time we announce the full list of bonus materials.

I'm just hoping they find and include more Brad Dourif footage.
His performance was and still is terrifying.

Terrific news!!!!!

Going to buy this for sure!

Hope it's a big seller too!.

I also hope that the studio can piece together something good, and that Blatty has some say in it.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

It's not clear in the description whether this edition just includes some deleted scenes and "making of" information, or if we get Blatty's original cut of the film (i.e. no exorcism scene, no Jason Miller, etc).

Does anyone know if this DVD contains the original cut that was allegedly "lost" by Morgan Creek, or just the cut we all know with some extras?

reply

Cool.

This is good news. I've been wanting to see the original cut every since I saw the theatrical version.
