Legion - the fanedit -

Anyone seen it? What do you think? Brad Dourif introduced this one at some film festival somewhere, apparently. I found it fascinating - came apart towards the end, but definitely was a much more interesting film than the original Exorcist III.

...and that *shock* in the hospital was still there!

Perhaps you can elaborate a bit..? Was it an edit with completely new footage never-before-seen?

No, it's just scaled-down and has a lot edited out. The "missing footage" is still missing. If you can find it and download it, I'd check it out. A far better film than what was originally released.

I finally had the opportunity to see the fanedit of EXORCIST III a few days ago, and I watched it again last night. Very, very well done with seamless edits. There are some major changes, mainly deletions, and one surprising addition. Here are a few thoughts (minor spoilers):

1) All footage regarding Fr. Morning has been taken out, including some dialogue that referenced him.

2) The hospital hallway scene is still there - in its entirety.

3) One of my favorite scare scenes has been removed. I suspect it has to do with keeping with Blatty's initial low-key approach. I missed the scene but its removal didn't hurt the film at all.

4) There is one surprising addition!

5) All scenes with Damien Karras are there (plus a few "new" ones), although some scenes have been re-edited to make the flow work.

6) In all honesty, the ending of the fanedit is closer to the theatrical version than the ending in the novel. I liked it and was surprised how seamlessly it flowed, particularly after editing out everything with Fr. Morning.

7) The new opening title is amazing!
