shareIn the original novel, Blatty, iirc, cites Aldous Huxley's The Devils, which is based on the mass "possessions" at Loudon, France, in which a demon was said to leap from a victim into two priests ("Lactance" and "Tranquille" - again, iirc).I think the original novel gives a couple of other examples of "leaping demons", but I am not sure that those other victims were priests...
