Comparison between Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands

I know that Edward Scissorhands is not a sequel to Beetlejuice. So, what would you call Edward Scissorhands to Beetlejuice if not a sequel?

A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FILM BY THE SAME DIRECTOR.

I'd call it "an inferior follow-up" film.

I love "Beetlejuice", but I really dont think much of "Scissorhands". It's a mawkish and uneven film.

So sorry, I cant agree to call them equally great.

A zany and yet vastly different film made by the same quirky filmmaker. And that ‘ s as far as the connection goes.

Oh, and a superior follow-up as well.
