Its too bad you can't appreciate those actors and their work on this film. I'm not comparing them to Depp, I'm just saying their performances helped make the film.
Diane Weist plays a wonderful, and crucial character. Arkin's deadpan humor is spot on. One of the funniest lines of the film is after Arkin's character gives Edward some whiskey to calm him down, which almost kills him, then says "good isn't it". These are certainly memorable for me.
