sharei agree with you- he acts a bit daft throughout the movie- and when edward runs off near the end and everyone is telling him to go find him he acts almost stoned!

I recently re-watched this and I thought he was the chillest character, I can understand why you'd find him annoying towards the end, I suppose most people would expect him to go ballistic over Edward running away but I think he took Edward as just another teen and being an adult he didn't think it was that big of a deal to see him walking away. Just a good example of how sometimes adults underestimate certain events.
