One of the Saddest Endings Ever?

Good lord, talk about emotional. One of the very few films that come close to making me shed a tear.

And the funny thing is that I'm a straight guy, and I have no excuse for being sentimental, or at least emotional. And at the end of this movie, I find myself almost shedding a tear. *beep* Tim Burton, seriously !!

reply

the ending breaks me everytime. the music only adds to it.

reply

The effect of the music has a lot regarding it.

A recent example was the ending of Super 8 when the boy and his father see the small picture of her dead mother as the alien is about to leave. Incredible well done feeling effect.

That's why music is so important in movies.

lol... seriously dude? You think random people on the Internet give a damn that you abide by rigidly enforced gender norms? Do you want a gold star or something?

reply

What does being straight have to do with being sentimental or emotional? How is your sexuality remotely relevant?

Makes me cry every time.

reply

Every time, without a doubt, I bawl my eyes out.
The end credits are rolling now along with the tears down my face. This is why I rarely watch it haha!

reply

Yet the narrator has a grandchild so she apparently got over Edward.

Especially since she could have paid the guy a visit or 2 in the years after things died down...
