Where did Edward get the ice?
To make that huge Kim statue in the yard?
shareThe film is essentially a modern fairy-tale or fable. If you have to ask questions like that and over-analyze the film so much...you've missed the point.

This board is for discussion of the movie. If the only answer you have is another version of "its just a movie"...you don't understand the meaning of discussion.
When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?
I perfectly understand the meaning of discussion. I live for discussing film.
But this particular subject isn't really something worth getting into because you don't have to understand where he got the ice from in order to enjoy the film.
Now if it were a major element of the plot...then I would encourage discussion. But over-analyzing it ruins the appeal and "magic" of the film.
All things once are things forever, soul once living lives forever.
If the topic of a discussion bothers you there isn't a gun to your head forcing you to reply. The one you left contributed as little as you believe this thread did.

The Ice Shop was giving out free samples. That's all you need to know.
shareYou have to remember that the events that take place are not real, Kim is telling her granddaughter a story a MADE UP story like all fairy-tales. It's a Fariytale. A man with scissorhands made from the heart of a cookie by an Inventor who lived in a castle that nobody ever visited.
People miss understand the film and Burton intentions and believe she is telling a 'true story' which is a bit degrading and dumps on the concept of a fariytale.
It's not rocket science to make ice, I would assume a house as large as that would have a walk-in freezer, so all you would need is a large container, a water supply and a cart...
Ya Kirk-loving Spocksucker!
It doesn't snow in that town, BIG blocks of ice fall out of the sky!
