PLOT HOLE - Property Taxes
After the inventor died, the government would have taken over the mansion and auctioned it off for failure to pay property taxes.

shareHahaha! Good point! But, in a real world, something/someone like Edward wouldn't exist(scissorhands).
shareYeah, eventually. Seems he died recently. I mean how was Edward getting fed? Clearly not much ability to take care of that himself. Also Peg wasn't thinking clearly about Edward going back and taking care of himself up there. But in her mind, everything can just 'go back to normal' the fantasy steady state that people with no imagination or brains think is a reality. Hey, Peg was charming, but brainy/thoughtful she was not.
shareWell, you are trying to bring reality and logic into a plot that would not even happen. A machine can not turn into a human, a surgeon would easily be able to remove the scissors and put in hands, and creating ice sculptures would not cause an entire Arizona town to have snowfall.
