They should do a direct sequel with Neeson ignoring the STvideo sequels (abit like the new Halloween ignored all the sequels to bring back JLC). Its a superhero film anyway right. Those are pretty big now (MNight brought back Unbreakable due to all the superhero success)

Plot could be... something like Darkmans still living in the shadows/an urban legend only very few people know about and still using the 99minute masks never having perfected it and has to face off against another Darkman (played by Bruce Campbell or Michael Keaton) who is pretending to be the real Darkman and doing evil stuff in his name. (and maybe Darkman has a daughter born in 1991 he's found out about and is trying to connect with).

All done in that crazy Universal 30s Horror meets Batman89 style

directed by Raimi again with Elfman scoring again. Rated R. And a 200m budget (j/k anything 60-80m would do it)

Neeson didn't return because he was a big name star by that time and his asking price was something like 3 - 5 times his original pay. I doubt he's going to be any cheaper now.

Vosloo didn't return for Darkman 4 because the Mummy movies pushed his asking price likewise higher.

If they do a new Darkman, I suspect they'll have to start over (AGAIN) with a new guy.

As much as Neeson did a good job for the role. A sequel should have had Bruce Campbell play Darkman. He even camos as Darkman's last disguise
