How Does One-Leg Guy Die?
How Does One-Leg Guy Die?
shareWas he with Durant in the helicopter?
shareThey kind of don't mention him after a little while from what I remember... good question!

Skip's death scene was to occur after the helicopter chase but before the climax. Darkman pays Skip a visit to learn where Julie was taken and who was behind Durant, which leads him to Strack's construction site. Then he kills Skip.
Narratively, in the final cut, the scene wouldn't have made all that much sense. The movie allows Darkman to deduce Strack's involvement from the big "S" on Durant's helicopter. Thus eliminating the need to interrogate Skip about who Durant was working for.
Also, after Durant's death (until the sequel anyway), Skip sort of ceases to matter. Why bother with a little fish after you killed the big one, and are about to go and confront the even bigger one? Thus it is in the final version of the story, Skip gets a sort of "out" by dint of Darkman just not needing to bother with Durant's gang anymore.
"I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?"
No, the only people with Durant in the helicopter were the pilot and an anonymous goon.

isnt he the guy who helps Strack at the end throwing chains at Westlake and then gets dangled for a moment and then falls to his death?
im pretty sure that's Skip (one leg guy)

No, that's just a random goon played by stuntman Christopher Doyle, not Skip played by Danny Hicks.
Skip was originally to get killed by Darkman with his own artificial leg somehow, but the scene was cut. Skip just disappears as a consequence. His death scene is in the novelization and the comic adaptation, though. In both, Darkman seeks Skip out to learn where Julie has been taken, and kills him once he's through with him.
In the Maervel Comics adaptation, his death is only implied. The "I told you everything!"/"Let's pretend you didn't!" dialogue is used here instead of with Rick earlier, and it just shows Darkman reaching threateningly for Skip.
In the Randall Boyll novel, Skip isn't wearing his prosthetic leg, and Darkman uses the machine gun concealed in it to shoot him. Skip is also the one he impersonates at the end, not Durant. A weird change.

I thought Skip was the guy with long hair. When a bunch of Durant's thugs go to Darkman's lab & Darkman kinda stalks them one by one...Isn't there a guy with long hair who Darkman impersonates? And they meet face to face? It's been a while since I've seen this movie.
DISPLAY thy breasts, my Julia!
The long-haired guy is named Smiley.

How does he die?
Depression. After years of serving as a human holster, once the long-haired guy died, he no longer served any purpose. Not finding any meaning in life, he slowly wasted away into nothing. The truly dark side of Darkman.
His death scene was cut from the movie.
You can always just assume he was in the Helicopter with Durant when it blew.
All well and good, except the helicopter is completely open so you can clearly see the only people in it are Durant, the pilot and a nameless goon.
