I noticed he was putting something on the bottom of one of the fingers. What was he using to keep all the other ones "fresh" so they didn't rot away or smell?

Why? Are you thinking of starting a collection?

He's probably using some kind of formaldehyde solution.

He might be coating them in acrylic.
