Lowest point in Johnny Depp's Career:

Lowest Point in Johnny Depp's Career: Cry Baby "You got it Allison... you got it Raawww!"

WORST line in ANY movie ever. I am a big fan of Johnny Depp's work and acting but that line alone ruined the entire movie.

First time I heard him say it... I was sitting there... shocked going "WHAT THE *** JUST HAPPENED?!"

What do you guys think?

I never saw this movie as a kid growing up. I'm 30 now. I just saw this movie for the first time about a year ago. And when he said "You got it Allison. You got it raw!" I just smiled and though "What a bad ass line".

It's like when Bruce Campbell says in Army Of Darkness, "Gimme some sugar baby"

Take them for what they are worth, just classic one liners.

You are all going to far. He said he hated that line, and seriously, I love this movie and I hate that line too.

Well, my actual first thought was "OMFG YOU SUXORS NUUBZ!!!!! I LUV J.D!! GOTOHELL WTFOMFGZORS!!". And then I remembered how bad PotC II and III were. PotC I was barely an amusing excuse for a movie... I mean, like, ever since my first visit to Disney 93 years ago, I've lied sleeplessly awake wondering if they ever got the keys from the dog!?! So we really needed a sequel, let alone two? What, you paid $8 each time just to see the Deppster do his Keith impression for 2.5 hours? If artistic mastery makes the high point, then total commercial sellout makes the loow point.

REM period over...

I actually agree that this was a TERRIBLE line. But I also think that was the *point.*

I couldn't agree more. I expected something amazing from all the hype I'd heard about it, but I was bored and disappointed.

i'm afraid i also must disagree. while i understand how you find the lines in this movie (especially "you got it RAW!") somewhat cheesy and bizarre, which i freely admit they are, i personally find them to be completely enjoyable!

i have loved this movie since i first saw it many years ago, and i must confess that every time i see it on my satellite guide i make a point of watching it! i love this movie, in all of its inherent cheesy glory, and i seem to be one of the few who doesn't cringe while watching it! depp just delivers his lines with a complete over-the-top corniness, with no reservation or apologeties, and that just makes them all the more memorable! i laugh out loud every single time i see him say that line, and my other personal favourite "electricity makes me CRAZY!"

it's like a big inside joke; the whole cast knew what kind of movie they were making and just completely and utterly went for it. and in my opinion, this is one of depp's best performances, and a great, campy, hysterically funny film.

I can see why some people would look at this as a low point and why others would think it's part of what kept Johnny Depp from becoming yesterday's Tigerbeat news. I actually really like it, but can only watch it once in a great, long while because I cringe and actually get embarrassed for the actors during a lot of lines (the french kissing scene alone just about broke the capillaries in my cheeks). I end up laughing and laughing really hard, but there's a lot of wincing, too. I get it, I like it, I watch it in a certain frame of mind, but it really stands hard on that narrow line that would make it completely unbearable for me. I can see how it would've crossed that line and doubled back to cross it again for some people. JMO, but I think demonstrating the ability and the bravery to go balls out, mercilessly corny and really make fun of himself and what he might have turned into at that point was actually a great move for Johnny Depp.

For me, this movie was the breakout role for Depp. He was the pretty boy on Jump Street and this was the first of many movies where he showed what an amazing character actor he is and how funny he is.

John Waters movies are not meant to be taken seriously, he is poking fun at everything. I love his stuff, including the original Hairspray, which if you have only seen the musical, you are missing out.

Prior to this film, I thought he was just another teen idol on TV that would never make it anywhere else (I disliked 21 Jump Street).

I'm trying to figure out why people keep saying this. I've just rewatched the entire show, and there wasn't anything particularly 'pretty boy' like about Tom Hanson.

He grows and develops as a character; in the beginning, he entered the Jump Street program as a square police officer (who likes BOWLING) and as time goes on, he does becomes quite angst-y, but still maintains a sense of humor, not to mention his chemistry with Peter DeLuise (Doug Penhall).

He had a lot of bright shining acting moments in drama too. Watch Orpheus 3.3. for example.

Hey now he was in the first nightmare on elm street also don't forget that

I actually thought the movie was pretty funny too.

You got it raw
Kiss me hard
I'm just so tired of being good

I mean it's classic. It's supposed to be a feel good movie ala Grease.
