an irony
in all probability, this story,be it book or film, is mostly targeted towards,read/watched,and enjoyed most by the same kinds of people it portrays and condemns.i can't imagine anyone who's not a yuppie themself finding it clever or even interesting, now or ever.i don't like people who use expressions like "the emperor's new clothes" to refer to a work they find overrated but i think it applys to tom wolfe's story, film or book, right down to it's bloated title.
