Connie and Stevie Dee

I love this movie, but am I the only one who thinks the storyline between Connie and Stevie Dee is the best part of it? Not sure if that was the intention of the writers, but I cared more about them than Betsy and her wedding.

I totally agree. That was the only romantic part of the movie for me. I mean, come on, he was willing to become a cop- for her!

When it came out, most film critics felt the same way.

Subplots can be a problem when they upstage the main plot, and that's certainly the case here. Connie and Stevie Dee (I kept hearing DVD) were much more better characters than the leads – and I found Catherine O'Hara's betrayed, scheming wife the best character of all. This is a decent film, but the point of the film got lost in the shuffle. 6/10 stars from me.
