Do you think Alex was telling the truth about Patterson?

(paraphrase) "You didn't beat him. You were passed out in the car the whole time; I just knocked your hand on the pavement to mess with your head"

Do you believe him, or do you think he was just saying that to get to Michael? On the one hand, it fits with Michael's inexperience at doing bad things... but I can't help thinking that Alex only said that to reinforce the fact that he was still in control, and that Michael WAS in fact the one who assaulted Patterson... What do you think?

Yes, he was telling Michael the truth.

The only reason I'm sure of this is because there is a scene where you actually see Alex knock Michael's hand on the pavement. It was cut from the film but I saw it once or twice in an ad for the film back when it was running on cable for the very first time.

I was hoping the DVD would have that scene and other 'deleted scenes', but no such luck.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Thanks! When I read that at first, for a second I thought I might've missed a scene from the actual movie...

On balance I think it's a good thing it was cut; it's nice to keep the audience wondering, and - unless they've seen the evidence you have - they do.

Alex definitely told Michael the truth. Michael doesn't look anything like the kind of person to beat up a backstabbing coworker even if he wanted to. And Alex is the type of person to mess with Michael's head by getting him to believe he did it.

At that point, Alex would have no reason to lie.
