Did anyone here actually see this in a theater?

If so, what did you think?

Do you have any memories to share?

I saw the first BTTF on VHS when I was a kid. Part II and III I watched in the theatre. Between Part II and III (shot back to back with only a 3-week break for the production) I had to wait half a year.

At that time the year 2015 seemed very cool to me. Hoverboards? Please make that happen. And then those Nike sneakers! Really enjoyed Part II. Part III I enjoyed very much too, but back then the Western theme didn't excite me much. The older I got, the more I appreciated the third movie. Nowadays I prefer it over Part II. And not because 2015 didn't really turn out the way it was predicted :)
Now I really appreciate that they went for something different in the third, taking quite a risk I'd say. And Thomas F. Wilson is just great as Mad Dog Tannen. He is amazing in all his Biff versions, but I think he really enjoyed being Mad Dog. Besides that I also enjoyed the cameos of both ZZ Top and Flea.

Needless to say that the theaters were packed, everyone was just excited to finally see Part II and II - after waiting for 4 years (less for me, since I didn't see the first in the theater).

Cool beans!

I was lucky to have seen all three in the cinema on release. Quite possibly one of the best trilogies ever.

I saw both II and III in the theater (the theater in the White Sands Mall, in Alamogordo, NM). I must have been around 9 years old at the time. I remember most of the anticipation over II because everyone wanted to see what the future was like. Even though I was too young to have seen I in the theater, all my friends had seen it on video. It was about as commonly known among kids as Star Wars or Gremlins at the time.

I remember being really delighted with the first third of Part II set in the future as well as the ending when they go back to the 50's. Overall I had a great time with the film though I remember being disturbed and put off by the dark middle section of the film when Marty is in the parallel 1985 with Biff as an evil billionaire. The part where he finds his father's grave was particularly shocking. I seem to remember it differently too, because I remember that you did get to clearly see his father's face in a few shots in the 50's with some alternate shots from what you saw in Part I, so they may have changed it after Crispin Glover sued. Either that or I'm remembering it wrong.

I don't remember the audience reaction but think it was generally pretty positive. I remember being super stoked for Part III and also excited when I found out it was coming out soon (had two sequels ever been made simultaneously before?).

Part III was kind of a different story. I remember liking it, though not as much as II, and that the people in the theater seemed disappointed and bored by the film. A lot of the humor didn't land either. Maybe it was just because I was a year older and had outgrown the shenanigans a bit. I do remember everyone laughing when the Indians he is driving at turn real (a pretty goofy moment) as well as when he claims his name is Clint Eastwood (I was too young to fully know who Eastwood was at the time, so didn't get the joke).
