SO easy to prevent ALL bad things.. information. Hello? Anybody home?
I mean, it would be SO incredibly gosh-darned easy to prevent everything without always going the STUPIDEST route of 'timetraveling some more'.
We would not have movie, sure, but realistically, which would you choose?
1) Tell Doc about EVERYTHING - the Almanac, the Libyans, the 'being shot in the wild west', the fact that you don't have to travel to 2015 to change 2015, because the Doc can just tell Marty and Jennifer what they need to know to prevent things from happening..
or how about telling Doc to NOT invent the time machine, because it just causes problems? (Of course the grandfather paradox would probably prevent this, but still - there are SO many problems with the time travel and CONSTANT meddling with history, this would actually be a small one. Besides, it boggles my mind how they ALWAYS try to 'fix things' by CHANGING HISTORY! Leave the history alone and change the FUTURE by giving INFORMATION to each other, ok?!)
2) Travel to the wild west and take a _HUGE_ change being killed by a bear, by indians, unfriendly cowboys, Biff's ancestor and his gang, or the possibility of not being able to get back from that era to your own time, OR meddling with history (even the tiniest change can create enormous effects, so changing the name of a ravine is not as trivial as this movie treats it), take part in gunfights, torture horses, eat the wild west 'food' with buckshots and crappy mudwater (I don't think they REALLY drank such filthy water, though, they had wells)...
..?
I mean, which would you choose? An easy solution or an INCREDIBLY dangerous, history-meddling solution that might cause you to change your own family history and everything..?
Marty could just tell Doc about the whole 'lighning will hit the DeLorean in 1955, so don't hover there' or 'don't go to 2015 so we don't have to end up in that situation due to chasing the almanac' _OR_ 'keep the almanac and DO NOT TALK about it or the time machine out loud where Biff can hear you' OR ...
Well, anyone with a thinking soul should be able to figure out how INSANE these plans to just 'fix things by time traveling' are.
All Doc has to do to fix the future is to TELL Marty things. Marty will arrive at 2015 due to the natural course of time and fix things. No need to go to 2015 = no almanac = no lightning hitting DeLorean = no ending up in wild west = no need to go back in time to the wild west.
See how it all is fixable? It's ALL in the future, so 'young Doc' could change _EVERYTHING_ and _ANYTHING_ he wants, why the heck would he keep doing things exactly the same after Marty's two visits, and why would Marty NOT tell him things? What if Doc changes his mind about reading the letter now that marty has visited a second time and DIDN'T indicate any threat in the future for him anymore?
It's so depressing that people rather make nonsensical movies than THINK about what the F they are writing for five seconds.
