Elisabeth Shue is my favorite version Jennifer Parker . . .

I have to admit that Elisabeth Shue is my favorite version Jennifer Parker in the Back to the Future trilogy.

Both did fine with a minor role I thought.

I don't compare them because Claudia Wells played a Jennifer in normal circumstances, and Shue had to play her in extraordinary circumstances. Wells might have been out of place for the sequels and vice versa.

I just wish Shue had looked like she did in Cocktail and Adventures In Babysitting with her natural hair. Gorgeous.

2015? You mean we're in the future!

Why did Elisabeth Shue have to replace Claudia Wells in BTTF II and III?

reply

Family commitments I think. Apparently her mum was very ill at the time.

Thanks.

Nah, I think Claudia was way cuter and played the role better. She looked more like Marty's type too.

Claudia was some high grade casting in the first BTTF. I liked her a lot.

Claudia Wells was cuter and was and looked/acted like a real teenage girl in the 1st BTTF. Elisabeth Shue looked too old, she seemed like what she was, a 25 year old woman pretending to be a teenager with clothes that were 4-5 years out of date in 1989/1990. The irony though, is that Elisabeth Shue aged better, despite being a few years older then Claudia Wells. Shue looks fantastic today in her early 50s, while Wells in her later 40s looks kinda haggard.
