So what? Then he gets/got promoted to police chief. Done. And people do work at that age. Problem solved.

I agree with the OP. And I think a third movie should been made way over a decade ago. They had so many years to write a good or great script.

With AI/CGI they could map his younger face on him in a third installment or onto younger actors. Reggie too.
