You know the old saying "Better to leave a party 5 minutes early rather than 5 minutes late."

Seinfeld left about 3 minutes early. The show was still good, and people were still watching. But it was clear to everybody that the best days were behind them, and Larry David's absence was being felt more and more each episode.

By comparison Friends left about half hour late.

The idiot general public that didn't immediately not watch it.

The only reason that springs to mind, for me, at least, is Jennifer Aniston's nipples.

I do like her. She was the only reason to watch the show.

Some shows find new energy but I think Seinfeld was slipping by 1996-97. I think at the time Jerry Seinfeld was ready to move on.
