So Jerry is a jerk in real life?

I was surprised to read many stories about how Jerry is a complete jerk in real life. Has anyone else heard this? I was surprised to learn this, especially since he seems the total opposite on the show.

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading!

What do you think, junior? You think his hands have been soakin' in Ivory liquid?

Smugness is not a good quality.

I'm guessing that some of you didn't get a hello kiss.

He comes across as an incredibly driven person who is looking out for what he wants, and doesn't let empathy get in the way. I know when I'm super focused on something I can not be "in the now" and might not be emotionally there while someone is talking to me. I quickly snap out of it when I realise it because I don't ever want to come across as non-caring.

Plus I saw an interview once where he said he bought an apartment in LA when the show started and did nothing there ever except sleep. He didn't care. That's someone who is super focused on his job.

Plus the real george visited the set and Jerry treated him like *beep* People of the past belonged just there for him.

So yeah, those traits would qualify him as a jerk for most people.

The real George is Larry David. I think you're thinking of someone else.

I think I understand this. Jason Alexander is real. His character George Costanza is not. Now Larry David is real. But his life is Costanza's. Now the TV show, which is real, shows you things that while they are real, they are not real in the sense that they did not really happen to the real George Costanza, which is Larry David.

I have never met him, I have never talked with him, I have never even seen him in real life.

This means, I can't really comment on it, but I can say that the image one naturally forms of him based on interviews and other videos is that he might be one of those people that have a.. let's say 'healthy appreciation of themselves' and might have lost any inclination, skill or desire to treat other people well, if he doesn't know them.

If one were to judge this sort of angle about this individual, by comparing his character in the show to his real self, one might reach the conclusion that it looks like his character is around eight-hundred thousand times more likable in the show, than his actual personality in real life.

I am not saying this is how it actually is - as I mentioned, I can't really comment, as I don't know him at all. All I am saying that it's possible that someone might form this sort of idea about him based on available videos and the show.

Let me be clear; I did not express my own viewpoint here at all, I have no comment.
