EZ top ten episode for me, maybe top three. Gold just for Elaine being hammered, "You can stuff your sorries in a sack!" and "Jugdish".

A bit mementoish, a bit repetitive, and a bit weird story (going to a wedding in India? It's as un-Seinfeld as it gets!).. a bit gimmicky and if you watch the episode in normal order, it seems very mundane, and not very funny.

The only reason it somewhat works, is the reversed-time-gimmick, and revealing the story bit by bit, by first creating many mysteries, and then revealing them one by one.

I do like the big lollipop, though, but I think it's just to show the audience the obviousness of the gimmick, so people can catch on quicker.

Memento did it better, because at least there's an excuse - to give the audience the same problem as the protagonist has, to create more sympathy for the murderous psycho.

So, the Seinfeld-episode is nothing special - but it is Seinfeld, so it is of course funny and entertaining, but not in my top 40 episodes.

Actually, the reverse-order format is a direct homage & reference to the acclaimed 1983 film Betrayal.

I DVR Seinfeld and I always watch that episode "Backwards" which is forwards chronologically.
