THAT'S how they wrote him out?!?!

With a shred of decency? I'm glad I stopped watching first-runs years ago. I might've burned and looted local businesses! Hahaha!
In all seriousness, Ed Green was one of the best characters (and Jesse Martin one of the finest actors) on television. And the Martin/Anderson-black-guy-swap? Not even close. And I like Anthony Anderson. Just not in this role. Oh well.

I just watched that episode and I, too, had the same sentiment as you. The "Green" character was very good and as far as I can tell, the "Bernard" (St. Bernard, heehee) was picked in haste. I'm afraid I never really warmed up to the guy.

Anyway, thanks for the post.

I never warmed to Jeremy Sisto since first seeing him in SIX FEET UNDER. And the Bernard/Lupo pairings are the ones of which I have seen the least. But there is a definite chemistry. Glad they ditched the matching beards, though. LOL!

I also really liked Fontana (Dennis Farina) but he was such a peacock that it was difficult to, sort of, seamlessly mesh with another detective. But what a character!

Mike Logan is probably my overall favorite. His criminally underdeveloped arc on L&O:CI was a unique opportunity to essay a matured version of a known character and I thought he nailed it. I thought I could see a little of Phil "Big Daddy" Ceretta, in the older, wiser Mike Logan.

+1. Loved Ed Green. He was great with both Lennie and Fontana. I got a kick out of his reactions to Fontana's "authorized" ad-libs.

He was an annoying douche. Not credible as a detective. Anderson is much more likable.

I don't think i disliked any character! Like others, I never warmed up to Sisto & Anderson. I long for Logan, bawl for Briscoe. And though their appearances were short-lived, Dennis "We're Authorized" Farina and Michael Imperioli were thoroughly watchable. RIP, Jerry and Dennis.

I really missed Ed Green!!! His replacement was okay, but nothing like Ed.
