My vote is definitely for Adam Schiff. I liked the way he didn't let even his closest friends get away with anything. Also, some of his comments were pretty amusing and delivered in a sort of deadpan like voice.
Adam is way better. I really liked the character. It cracked me up how many times they had him eating. He also did some sniff thing that amused me as well. Branch drove me up the damn wall with his little home spun expressions. Well at least Branch was better than Nora. The character and actress just wasn't right for the shwo.
I go with Adam Schiff. Hill played a great curmudgeon who had some good lines in the exit scenes at the end of each show. "By the time she gets out of Bedford, her kid should be able to defend itself".
It was also quite touching when Schiff took his wife off of life support.
Also Schiff and McCoy locked horns on some memorable occasions.

Agreed. While Arthur brought back the spark and life to the DA's scenes that had been lacking during the era of Nora Lewin, it all too often became a political debate with Branch spewing the right wing beliefs of the actor that played him. Sometimes the second half of the show became more of a political debate than a legal one with Branch. Even in episodes where the case wasn't political, Branch would make it political. It got tiresome and as I've talked about earlier, at times the second half of those shows felt like a forum to discuss the Bush administration and the War on Terror. The show was trying to be very timely but L&O wasn't a political show and it wound up alienating a large percentage of the audience. The constant politico theme of the Branch years got really tiresome
