John Wesley Shipp

1. I think that Shipp did an outstanding job portraying the Flash! I've read in the forum that some people were unhappy becuase he didn't look like Barry Allen, i.e., not blond. Well, look at some of the other TV superheroes:

a. Batman and Robin (of the 1960's TV series) both had brown hair instead of the black hair as portrayed in the comics.

b. The Fantastic Four's Human Torch in the current movies (2005-2006) doesn't even look like Johnny Storm of the comics.

c. X-Men's villainess character of Mystique wears (?) a different and strange costume and make-up, instead of clothes. [Not that we're complaining!!!]

d. In the old 1950's TV series Superman, Lois Lane was a redhead and Jimmy Olson had brown hair, but in the comics the colors were reversed.

2. Movie and TV production companies will change certain aspects around to increase sales, rating, for more publicity, etc.
